Rise to Prominence
In 1990, Sanders was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Vermont's at-large congressional district. He served in the House for 16 years, advocating for progressive policies and challenging the status quo. In 2007, Sanders was elected to the U.S. Senate, where he continues to serve today.
